A mother has a teenage son diagnosed with Complex PTSD and Borderline Personality Disorder. She also has an unyielding bond with her cats, meaning she’d never give them up, even in crisis. This added extra layers of responsibility and support that she had to provide, all while managing a difficult financial situation.
With the help of a dedicated mental health advocacy worker, she was able to navigate the complexities of the housing system and build a strong case for support. As a result, she received an offer of public housing. Thanks to additional backing from Kickstarter funding, she was able to accept the offer the same day and move in within the week.
