A family were sleeping in a park

A young couple with 3 kids had been residing with family until a relationship breakdown occurred and forced the family into rough sleeping. As a family, they had been sleeping rough in a park with no family support around them.

Neami National picked their family up and began helping connect them to services. The family had to travel between rural NSW and Sydney for short-term accommodation stays. During this time, one of the children experienced a fall and suffered a fracture, and one of the other children has an ongoing health condition that needs management.

After so much disruption, their case manager helped the family secure a private rental ; however, they were required to pay a deposit the same day or risk losing it. Their case manager referred them to Mobilise Kickstarter, where we were able to cover the deposit within hours of receiving the referral, allowing the young family to move in and focus on setting up their future.
