Nedd Brockmann has continued his commitment to We Are Mobilise with another incredible donation to support those facing homelessness, thanks to the sale of his autobiography “Showing Up”.
Brockmann donated $5 and $15 of every pre-sale of the book, with the final amount being $41,675, which he presented to We Are Mobilise CEO Noah Yang at the launch of Nedd’s Milk in late October.
Looking back on his monumental run that catapulted him to overnight fame, Brockmann said it helped give him a sense of perspective.
“I’d been through 46 days of something you can’t explain to people, on a frequency that is very hard to understand, and then I was reintroduced to a bubble of people who are caught up on what’s going wrong for them,” Brockmann said.
“We’re on a floating rock, convinced that our consciousness means we have a purpose. We don’t. All we’re here to do is be good people, spread goodness and give back.”
We Are Mobilise CEO Noah Yang said this money will go directly to those who need it.
“We are starting to deliver our direct giving programs now, so this incredible donation will allow us to get another 12 people facing homelessness a permanent place to stay, which is just incredible,” Yang said.
“We can’t thank Nedd enough for his ongoing contributions to We Are Mobilise and to support our vision of ending homelessness in Australia.”
Get comfortable with being uncomfortable – the story of a 23-year-old tradie who put his body ‘through hell and back 10 times’ to prove that anything is possible when you break past your own barriers.
When Nedd Brockmann set out to run the 3,953 kilometres from Cottesloe to Bondi Beach in the fastest known time of forty days, fame and public recognition never presented themselves as a motivation. He sought to raise money for homelessness and to bring attention to the urgent crisis facing society. He also wanted to test his limits and defy his own expectations of himself.
In Showing Up, Nedd wants to share the stories that have shaped his mindset most profoundly. These are the stories he thought of on those long and monotonous roads, when the wind stole the scream from his lips before he could make a sound. They are stories that speak to our potential, to help us push past our own limitations. Stories that suggest we are all destined for greatness, as long as we’re willing to work hard.
