NEDD BROCKMANN
Nedd Brockmann, a 24-year-old electrician from Forbes, had a goal: to run from Perth to Sydney faster than anyone ever has and raise awareness for a cause.
By the time he crossed the finish line at Bondi Beach in front of 10,000 fans, he had created a moment and built a movement. Running 100km a day for 46 days, he became the fastest Australian to achieve this feat, but more importantly to Nedd, Australia’s homelessness plight was finally being discussed. Through Nedd’s Record Run, he raised over $2 million for We Are Mobilise, which enabled us to launch our direct giving programs and start a whole new chapter for us as an organisation.
So, why homelessness? When Nedd arrived in Sydney from regional New South Wales and witnessed the number of people without a home; he wanted to help. He wanted to undertake a feat that would capture the attention of all Australians and, in doing so, share his message: homelessness does not equal hopelessness.
Nedd and Mobilise are back again. After having successfully raised over $2 million for We Are Mobilise since 2022, Nedd is going bigger and better in 2024 with a target of $10 million!
Mobilise wants to do impact differently, putting funding directly into the hands of those who need it most. We have big dreams for our innovative programs to positively impact the lives of 10,000 Aussies by 2030… with three programs having launched since 2023, we’re only just getting started.
Now it’s your turn to get uncomfortable.
