State of Homelessness
In Australia
On any given night, more than 122,000 Aussies are experiencing homelessness.
122,000
PEOPLE IN AUSTRALIA ARE
CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING
HOMELESSNESS
That’s 1 in every 200 of us.
And here’s what most people don’t know:
94% of them are hidden from view – on a friend’s couch, in a car, in overcrowded housing that falls below any minimum standard. What we see on the streets is just the surface.
Homelessness in Australia doesn’t discriminate. It’s triggered by job loss, illness, domestic violence, a rent increase, a relationship breakdown. For most people it’s not a permanent state – it’s a crisis point. A moment where the gap between where they are and where they need to be is measured not in years, but in dollars.

What We're
doing about it.
The answer, backed by research from around the world and being proven here in Australia, is Direct Giving – getting money to people at the exact moment they need it.
Mobilise is the platform that makes that possible. When someone is ready for housing, their case manager refers them to us. We assess the referral and move the money directly to the housing provider – same day. Over 1,500 people are now in stable housing because of it. The evidence says it works.
The 122,000 people experiencing homelessness need a system that moves fast enough to help them.
That’s what we’ve built.
