Single mother get into housing

A single mother and her children fled family violence, facing homelessness. Living with life-long disabilities, the mother relies entirely on the disability support pension.

With financial abuse from her ex-partner she is left with unaffordable housing. Friends stepped in to help, but now she’s burdened with repaying them while struggling to cover her current rent. By the time she was referred to Mobilise, she was already two days in arrears. Despite qualifying for Family Violence, Homeless with Support Public Housing priority, she has been stuck on the waitlist for 10 years.
