WOW! What an incredible start to 2025 for We Are Mobilise. If you haven’t heard already, Mobilise was the official charity partner for triple j’s Hottest 100 this year, and we just raised $400,000 for homelessness! That’s enough to cover over 24 years of housing through our Kickstarter Program.
The Hottest 100 is triple j’s annual poll of your favourite songs. Each year, hundreds of thousands of people from all around the world choose the songs that have soundtracked their life, leading to one hell of a listening party on January 25th. Every year, triple j works with a charity, selling Hottest 100 t-shirts to raise money for a good cause, and we were lucky enough to be that charity this year.
Triple j fans all over the country bought t-shirts for $45, which covers a night of housing for someone doing it tough through our Mobilise Kickstarter program. Not only did people buy tees, but so many generous Aussies donated directly to Mobilise, and in total we were able to raise a massive $400,000!
We’re so proud of the Mobilise Kickstarter program, where we cover bond and rent, to get people into housing, and help break the cycle of homelessness.
On the day of the Hottest 100 Countdown, the Mobilise team were lucky enough to experience the triple j magic in person at the Sydney studio, hanging out with the presenters and watching the donations sky rocket every time they mentioned Mobilise on air.
As Hrishi put it:
“It’s a real testament to the Triple J team how smooth the day was and how welcome we felt. Every milestone was met with a high amount of excitement from their team, and a real sense of belief in what Mobilise will be able to accomplish.
Across the day, so many of the Triple J staff, from presenters to operations personnel, made themselves available to help us out in whatever way possible.
For me personally, Triple J represents such an important institution for young Australians, providing a platform for every facet of the Australian music industry. To not only get an inside look at how they operate, but also for them to champion Mobilise and our mission, throughout the day and the campaign, really amplifies what a valuable institution it is.”
We had so many donors leaving supportive messages, here are some of our favourites:
“I’m Elsie, I’m 9 years old, and I really want everyone to be able to have a home.”
“My 8-year-old son, Jaxx, wanted to help homeless people after seeing how a small donation can make a difference. When he heard about this charity on Triple J’s Hottest 100, he immediately gave $55.15 from his pocket money. So proud of him!”
“It makes my heart sing that Triple J chooses such awesome causes each year. I’ve been with you since the beginning 50 years ago. Keep going! We need more positivity and kindness in this world.”
“The work you do is amazing. Keep changing lives!!”
We are beyond grateful for this opportunity to work with triple j, to spread the Mobilise mission, get people talking about homelessness, and to make a real, lasting impact together. This is truly life-changing for people doing it tough. A safe place to call home means more than just shelter—it’s the first step towards a fresh start.
