We are thrilled to announce the graduation of the first cohort from Mobilise Matched, our innovative six-month program designed to empower those experiencing homelessness through direct cash transfers. This milestone event was held on June 17th at our partner Youth Projects‘ office in Werribee in Victoria.
The ceremony was highlighted by the inspiring words of AFL superstar Trent Cotchin to our amazing participants. As the co-founder of Posi Socks, Trent shared invaluable insights on resilience and maintaining a positive attitude. His message resonated deeply with our graduates, emphasising the importance of perseverance and optimism in overcoming life’s challenges.
Our participants were also given a Posi Socks merchandise pack to recognise their fantastic efforts over the past six months.
What Is Mobilise Matched
Mobilise Matched is a direct cash transfer program that provides financial autonomy to individuals facing homelessness. The program is based on the principle that direct cash transfers via financial grants of up to $10,000 and financial counselling can offer immediate relief and empower recipients to make choices that best suit their needs.
Integration with Project 10,000
This program is a crucial component of our broader Project 10,000, which aspires to provide meaningful support to 10,000 individuals facing homelessness by 2030. Mobilise Matched aligns with our vision of offering direct and impactful assistance, enabling participants to take significant steps towards stability and independence.
Acknowledging Our Supporters
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Paul Ramsay Foundation for their support and belief in Mobilise Matched. Their commitment to eradicating disadvantage across Australia has been instrumental in the success of our program. The Foundation’s dedication to bold and innovative solutions mirrors our own mission, and we are honoured to work alongside them.
What they said
“When I heard about the Mobilise Matched program, I couldn’t believe something like this existed.” – Mobilise Matched participant
So what’s next?
As we celebrate this milestone, we are optimistic about the future. Thanks to our partners at the Paul Ramsay Foundation, we can’t wait to complete our evaluation reporting, continue our planning for Mobilise Matched v2.0, and onboard more participants.
The success of our first graduates stands as a testament to the efficacy of direct giving programs and our power to help people across the country. Together, we are making strides towards a more inclusive and supportive society.
