All of us at We Are Mobilise anticipated a solid start to 2024, a year poised to be our most significant yet, but the magnitude of our progress has surpassed our expectations.
While we’ve extensively discussed our direct giving programs, their impact is becoming increasingly evident.
Celebrating their one-month milestone, Mobilise Matched participants recently engaged in a goal-setting workshop. Witnessing the inaugural participants embrace the program has been truly inspiring. Currently, 11 individuals are participating in the pilot, striving towards their new chapter with the support of up to $10,000 in funding.
The reception to Mobilise Kickstarter, our second program launch, has been extraordinary. The demand for assistance securing housing is unmistakable, particularly amid the prevailing cost-of-living crisis and housing affordability challenges.
In the past month alone, Kickstarter has experienced rapid growth, facilitating over 30 months of housing for 22 participants since its inception in November.
Beyond direct giving initiatives, our Outreach efforts have resumed for 2024, creating real excitement within our team. These outreaches are the cornerstone of our operations, providing invaluable opportunities to connect with our friends on the street and offer them support and companionship.
Our first outreaches of 2024 occurred in NSW, QLD, and VIC over the weekend, with plans for our ACT stall to follow next. If you’ve contemplated joining an outreach, there’s no better time than now. It’s a rewarding experience, offering a chance to make a meaningful difference while enjoying a day out in the city.
At the core of our strategy lies a commitment to developing scalable systems. We firmly believe this approach is critical to realising our program aspirations efficiently.
Excitingly, our new technology stack supporting our direct giving programs is set to launch this month. This advancement will streamline onboarding, enabling more individuals to access funding and support promptly.
Recently, we had the privilege of participating in several events, including Dovetail’s Syndicate4Good Luncheon and facilitating the Everybody’s Home Launch Webinar, centred around their latest report, ‘Written Off’.
These engagements underscore our growing commitment to contributing to the broader dialogue for change regarding homelessness.
We remain steadfast in our belief that in a country like Australia, everyone deserves a safe place to call home.
Month after month, our team diligently works towards this goal, working alongside all of the other remarkable organisations in the sector.
