We Are Mobilise launched direct giving programs in late-2022 and distributed our first $1 million over the next 20 months. This October, we hit the incredible milestone of $300,000+ distributed in just 31 days!
This represents our second consecutive month of significantly scaled support, and the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
This month, we’re proud to have helped 123 people into long-term housing, working alongside a network of charities that reach across every state and territory of Australia.
Behind each of these numbers is a story of new futures unfolding, enabled by programs like Mobilise Kickstarter, which offers 12 weeks of rental support for people taking their first steps into safe, sustainable housing.
A Kickstarter participant shared their experience accessing the program below:
“It’s a huge weight off my shoulders, I can focus on getting my family settled and back on track. I honestly don’t know what to say exactly, the impact may seem small from the outside because some think it’s not much, but on the inside, there’s so much happening; it’s one less thing to worry about, it’s allowing some breathing room to refocus, it’s allowing me to organise my children without finance issues hanging over my head causing stress and uncertainty, I can afford to be more patient, to take time to sort our life out and make a plan.”
Reflecting on our journey since the same time last year, we’ve seen Kickstarter reach 10 times as many people and we’ve been able to deliver funding in just a fraction of the time, when compared to those first 20 months. These outcomes are only possible thanks to the community of case managers and partners who continue to believe in our mission to prove that homelessness is solvable in Australia.
A Case Manager from Uniting explained the impact of programs like Kickstarter below:
“The best thing about Mobilise is about how quick and easy it is, and how much they trust my advocacy and what I have to say about my clients and the situation they’re in. I am able to get clients to a housing outcome in situations where I otherwise wouldn’t be able to without Mobilise. A client that I caught up with yesterday that has been through a few Mobilise programs is doing so well...and they are still in that same house that we accessed Kickstarter for over a year ago.”
Our goal is to continue this hockey-stick trajectory of lives changed, powered by a strong foundation of both technology and relationships that work hand in hand to keep pace with a growing demand for support.
October was a huge celebration of what’s possible on our exciting journey to help every Australian find a stable home.
