OUR PROGRAMS
DIRECT GIVING
Mobilise helps people facing homelessness by offering direct funding towards housing and essentials to get them through tough times.
We are also developing innovative solutions to homelessness to create long-term change for people and improve their futures.

HOUSING
Mobilise provides funding towards bond, rent and debt to enable people to move into, or stay in housing.

Julie

Finding herself homeless after a marriage breakdown, Julie spent all her money on moving into a new rental and had fallen into rent arrears (debt).
Mobilise paid off her debt and rent for two months, to give her some breathing room until her aged pension came through.
“Mobilise helped grant me the breathing room and opportunity to catch up with myself financially as I began to get my life together.”

Monique

Monique was living in a temporary youth shelter. She was working and would be able to afford the rent on her own, but was struggling to save for the upfront costs of moving into her own place.
Mobilise paid for her bond and two months’ rent so she could move into.
“For the first time, I felt genuinely supported — not judged or overlooked, but seen and heard.”

Amir

After fleeing from a war-torn country and struggling to find housing in Australia, Amir started sleeping on the streets.
Mobilise paid for his bond and two month’s rent so he could move into safe housing and start the next chapter of his life.
“When I really needed a safe and stable place to give, Mobilise helped me secure it and allowed me to get a head start on rent, which was huge.”
ESSENTIALS
Mobilise provides funding towards bills and essentials, to ensure people can afford the necessities that will keep them out of homelessness.

Cate

Cate is a single mother of four who became homeless after fleeing domestic violence. They found a safe place to live, but she didn’t know how she would keep up with the rent and bills. Her kids’ wellbeing was suffering.
Mobilise paid for Cate’s utility bills, weekly groceries and her kids’ soccer for a year, allowing her to stay on top of the rent and remain housed, until she finds a new job.
“If it wasn’t for this program, I would not be able to keep living in my current housing with my children and keep a roof over our head.”

Charlie

Charlie struggles to maintain work and has experienced many periods of unemployment and homelessness. His doctor believes he has ADHD and needs medication, but he can’t afford the costly assessment.
Mobilise covered the cost so he could finally get a diagnosis and start treatment, which has helped him maintain stable employment and housing.
“The help I’ve received from Mobilise has allowed for both successful diagnosis and the start of treatment. It has been an unspeakable relief.”

Morgan

Morgan is a young person who doesn’t have any family to rely on. They were working as a delivery driver while studying when their car broke down – creating extreme financial stress.
Mobilise paid for the repairs and road-worthy assessment so Morgan could get back on the road, keep their job and keep paying their rent – avoiding homelessness.
“It did its primary job of helping me stay in employment, and actually go from casual to part-time, so I was able to get consistent hours.”
FUTURES
Mobilise is developing innovative solutions, aiming to change the life trajectories of people facing homelessness, including an Australian-first direct cash transfer program, Mobilise Matched.
We put funding directly in the hands of those who need it most, giving them the trust and autonomy to forge their own path out of hardship.

Kai

Kai was skipping meals, had no money and was at risk of becoming homelessness.
The Mobilise Matched program gave him a large direct cash grant, along with financial counselling and goal setting support.
He is now stably housed and able to focus on starting his business, holding community events and supporting others like himself.
“When I first heard about it, I couldn’t believe a program like Mobilise Matched exists.”

Grace

Grace had a difficult childhood with no family support. She had experienced periods of homelessness and was disengaged from education and work.
After going through the Mobilise Matched program, she was able to stay securely housed, re-engage in work, and start thinking about the future for the first time. She is now trying to save for a house deposit.
“I’ve done so many of these financial counselling and budgeting courses but the big problem is, I’ve just never had any money.”

Ruri

Ruri was a business owner overseas, but after migrating to Australia, she struggled to get enough casual work, putting her at high risk of homelessness.
The direct cash and financial counselling support allowed her to move from a constant state of emergency, and to work towards setting up her own nail salon business.
“Because of this program I’ve finally been able to think about what is next and not just the day to day.”
