Nedd Brockmann has once again captured Australia’s heart with his incredible endurance and unwavering commitment to a worthy cause. On October 16th, Brockmann completed his gruelling 1,000-mile challenge in 12 days, 13 hours, and 16 minutes, falling short of the world record but smashing his personal limits and inspiring thousands. His feat took place at Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre, where he ran a total of 403 laps each day, pushing through extreme physical pain, including swollen feet and blisters.
Nedd’s Uncomfortable Challenge has already raised an astounding $4 million for We Are Mobilise, which will offer participants 333 years of housing via the Mobilise Kickstarter program. His goal was not only to break the world record for the fastest 1,000 miles but also to raise $10 million to support Australians facing homelessness. Those efforts to raise awareness and funds have been nothing short of extraordinary.
Nedd’s mates, including Pat Cummins, Jessica Fox, Hamish Blake, and ‘Tom’, visited him and ran with him during the event, with millions joining along at home via the TikTok livestream to encourage him throughout.
Reflecting on his effort on the final live show of the TikTok livestream, Brockmann said ‘This life pursuit of mine is to show people we live in this world where we’re so much more capable than we think.’
At We Are Mobilise, we couldn’t be prouder of Nedd’s achievements, both in terms of his athletic feat and his commitment to making a lasting impact on homelessness in Australia and are so proud of everyone who took up a challenge themselves, whether it be personal or physical, to continue putting the spotlight on homelessness and drive donations.
