Direct cash transfer programs have been deployed in a number of international scenarios with great success, with candidates using the money for housing, food and other essential needs. The evidence for the effectiveness of cash transfers in international development is well-established, their use in supporting those experiencing homelessness in high-income countries is still rare.
Mobilise Founder and CEO, Noah Yang, said he was thrilled to launch the first-of-its-kind program.
“We are excited to launch this Australian-first program with our incredible partners. We think it will deliver employment and financial outcomes that will genuinely change people’s lives for the better.”

“The housing crisis is at the forefront of Australians’ minds like never before, and Mobilise Matched is the beginning of a program that could have a long-lasting impact on homelessness across Australia.”
For Mobilise, the program is launching on the back of Nedd Brockmann’s Record Run last October. Nedd Brockmann decided to challenge conventions and proved to all of us across the nation that anything is possible. Mobilise are continuing to carry the torch and pioneer innovative solutions to positively impact those experiencing homelessness.
“After the amazing success of Nedd Brockmann and his run across the country that saw Australians donate $2 million+ to Mobilise, we are hard at work getting that money into the hands of people that need it.” said Yang.
“We recently received news that the first participant had received a contract offer and would be starting work. Together we’ve put someone who was in a really difficult spot not only into a job, but with a new hope for the future.”
Interlock Construction Founder and Managing Director, Nick Abraham, says his company has a strong belief in investing in socially-responsible programs like Mobilise Matched.
“By providing employment opportunities and training, we’re not just helping individuals improve their economic situation, but also empowering them to build fulfilling, meaningful careers.”
