One of my favourite parts about the journey at We Are Mobilise is sharing our story and challenging the societal stereotypes surrounding those facing homelessness.
From the conversations we’ve had across hundreds of outreaches, we know that there are many faces to homelessness, and the stereotypes you hear every day are simply untrue.
As a society, we can and should do more collectively, and I believe this mindset is evolving as we look to spread our message of connection for change. This was never more prevalent than during Nedd’s Run in 2022, where we saw the power of unity, storytelling, and a galvanising message end in an incredible fundraising campaign as Australians rallied to donate to Nedd and the mission of ending homelessness.
Another of my favourite aspects about all we do is the chance to meet and work alongside aligned organisations who share our vision for a brighter future.
Sharing stories and working with aligned partners are two incredibly energising activities. There’s nothing better than when both of those pursuits intersect as they have with the Melbourne Rebels – one of our foundation partners – and an organisation with the community at the core of its culture.
They are an organisation that “aspire to be Australia’s most connected, accessible, and respected club, representing the people and the passion of the world’s sporting capital.”
We have seen that approach in spades over the past few years as we’ve worked with the Rebels as their charity partner. From collaborative outreaches to game-day events, connecting and driving that conversation for change has been an absolute pleasure.
It has been a fantastic few years working with the Rebels, and we look forward to continuing to make an impact together.
As we continue to connect with incredible organisations within the sector and with business more broadly, it is incredible to see the eagerness of people willing to do their bit to make an impact.
Let’s change the world.
